Postcode lottery

Hello has anyone ever played and/or subsequently won anything on the postcode lottery? I've signed up but looking at it my postcode has only won once a year if that! Anything else I could do to try to win some money. Not really a betting person, only once in a blue moon. I'm the sort who if I ever win anything in a casino I walk away before I lose it and that was years ago but I could do with some luck!

We do it every month and have won a few tenners here and there. £30 last month!

AlfietheSchnauzer · 12/08/2023 17:37

I've only won £10 twice in 6 months. I won £10 on Omaze last week. I nearly had a heart attack when I got the email from Omaze saying "Congratulations you're a winner!" As they had a luxury farmhouse (in my town as well!), in that same draw. I honestly thought I'd won it for a split second!

Louisetopaz21 · 12/08/2023 17:38

I won £1600 last month x

The road next to ours win during 2020. It was tens of thousands.

Wow that's amazing! Does it matter if you live on a big or small road? My road is massive

Imagine you'd won the farmhouse! I would be happy with a tenner tbh

My aunt won £345,000 in Medway in December 2021 (or 2022--I can't remember)Six or seven people in her street won the same amount, one family had two tickets so won double the amount.

Try not to rely on winning money that is a slippery slope. Try and upskill yourself to get a better job.

No one is talking about relying on winning money 😳🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s a bit of fun.

Hellocatshome · 12/08/2023 19:51

We've had £10 a few times and £100 once. Still more than I've ever qon on the lottery.

EachandEveryone · 12/08/2023 19:51

I’ve won random things off them. Last week I got a travel pack of l’occitane handcreams. And last year I won a M and S voucher. Both were a complete surprise. It is expensive though if you think about it.

Startyabastard · 12/08/2023 19:51

NS&i is good if you have a chunk to put in there.

What? Read OPs post. She literally said this:
"Anything else I could do to try to win some money."

And how does that equate to relying on winning money? 🤷‍♀️

I'm not relying on winning money. I do have a decent job.

Thanks @Xrays. Definitely not relying on it. That would be ridiculous. I just could do with winning some 😄

Yeah I didn't think it would be that bad but 12 a month is a lot. Think I'm going to cancel it

We have been doing it about a year and won £60 so far.

Still holding out for that giant cheque lol.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 13/08/2023 12:31

Gosh it's rubbish isn't it. I'm cancelling it. For context I'm renting and trying to save up a deposit. I'm 42 and feeling the urgency. So I thought maybe I could win a bit and save it. Obviously I know that is not a long term plan or anything but a windfall would help and I'd heard you can win quite a few times at the beginning. Think I'd be better sticking my 12 quid a month in a savings pot

I do the free postcode lottery 'pick my postcode'. The prizes are much smaller and in 2 yrs, I've won £0. Its free though, and I just answer everything with 'Prefer not to say' so they aren't collecting free data off me.

A neighbour did the paid postcode lottery for years and recently won a 'prize voucher'. I have no idea what that amounts to though? I assume not massive, because the postman delivered it us instead, because they were out.

skyeisthelimit · 13/08/2023 14:36

I have won £10 a few times and £20 once.

I know of 2 people locally who won thousands in the past few year, when their (different) streets won. Another friend won £1K.
