I did first time application for DH in March and it took a couple of months

My first time application took two months. My aunt submitted her renewal in early May and hasn't heard back yet, they're prioritising new claims. She phoned and was told up to 36 weeks at the moment! But the claim is extended while they are reviewing it so you won't be cut off or have to pay back if they drop your amount.

I meant to add, I applied mid May and have already had my first payment, so was about 3 weeks after my Aunt who hasn't heard back yet.

I got my renewal form last September and had my assessment on Monday. Hope it goes quicker for you OP

Submitted my renewal October 7th 2022 and still waiting 😞 my blue badge has run out and I can't get a new one without my renewal! It's going to be rough until it comes through.

Fingers crossed it's soon🤞🏻

I sent my renewal form back to the DWP in June 2022. I finally had an assesment last month, so 13 month wait here!

I assist clients with their pip reviews and claims etc.
One client I did a review for in September had it back two months ago, one lady January and no update yet. They’re prioritising new claims at the moment so look at it as no news is good news.

I’m in Wales no so clue for England

Howlingmoor · 11/08/2023 21:43

I sent mine in May and have heard nothing except a text this week saying they have it and it’s in a queue.

TheresMore · 11/08/2023 21:55

Mine was up for renewal December 2022 - sent my paperwork back when they asked for it (October 2022 I think)
Then had a letter saying that was extending it as they was overwhelmed with going through claims / backlogs

Had my phone interview mid July 2023

Just had confirmation this week that it has been extended by 4 years

Firsttimecaller · 11/08/2023 22:23

Review form sent Nov22, actual end date Mar23, video interview this week.

I've finally had an appointment through for a telephone assessment for Thursday! I've been claiming for about 20 years (10 years as an adult, 10 years as a child) and all of my assessments have been face to face.

Has anyone had a telephone assessment before? For some reason I'm more nervous than I would be for a face to face!!!
