Montpellier / Languedoc break with young DC recommendations - combine with Country Kids

We've got a week booked at Country Kids France next year - very excited - and I'm looking for somewhere nearby we can go for a week beforehand to extend the holiday. It will be out of school holidays as our DD will still be 3. We are trying to avoid a massive long drive so looking for somewhere relatively close.

Looking around Montpellier or Beziers, for potentially a city and beach holiday to contrast the week at Country Kids.

Can anyone recommend a good child friendly place near Montpellier?? Even better if anyone has been somewhere en route to / from Country Kids?

the owners are delightful and we had a great stay there. We went in mid summer so it was boiling hot and we spent most of the time in the pool with our children playing with the other children staying there. There is lots to do in the area and we visited Montpellier a couple of times.

Just wondering did you make it to Country Kids and how was it? Considering it for June
