I’ve seen a couple of these threads recently and have great admiration for the deduction skills shown!

so I’m hoping the hive mind may be able to help….

i read it as a library book in the late 80s / early 90s, and think it was aimed at tweens. It was about ?6 kids in a sports competition, where each kid was really talented at one sport, but they each had to compete in all the sports to find out who was the best all rounder.
I think there were more boys than girls, and one of the girls was called Bonnie. The other girl’s name may have begun with a C and was slightly unusual for that era, perhaps Coralie or similar.

one of the sports was swimming and another was bmx riding. Maybe diving was another?

it was all very cut throat and competitive between the kids, as they were each used to being the star, but then one of them - perhaps Bonnie? - got kidnapped and they all banded together to save her.

can anyone help? It’s driving me mad ( and has done for over a decade now😂)

thank you!

I have no idea but there are some good Facebook book groups that I’m on where people have asked similar questions and someone has usually found the book:

Lost in a good book
Hooked on the book
Book recommendations

Or try the book forum on MN.
