What’s the deal with these companies? The things they sell are clearly impossible to produce and sell at those prices. Do you think it’s a way for the Chinese government to access a massively amount of people’s financial data? Or to undermine western businesses? My teenage kids claim that they will never have TikTok because they see it as an opportunity for their data to be stolen.
I’m not a conspiracy theorist, honestly! But something is off about it all.

It's been quite incredible to watch on Facebook, people who I know via ethical shopping/baby products groups literally falling over themselves to get their hands on cheap tat they never knew they needed and then asking people to sign up so they can get more unethically produced shite for free

The same people who last year were banging on about supporting UK small businesses, shopping ethically and locally, why organic cost more but is worth it, now suddenly temu shoppers

I can't wrap my head around it

No I can't afford to shop at ethical places anymore, but I've moved to vinted not temu or shein, never had an issue (except people not posting but always get full money back) and loved everything I've bought

I wouldn't touch either of them with someone's else's bargepole!!

I like quality goods and I usually buy them when they are on sale.

I’ve not read twft but please do not kid yourselves that these cheap companies are any different to tjr expensive ones . They are just cutting out the middlemen. They are the same factories using slave labour for expensive items and the cheap ones . They are only expensive because of marketing and well it’s just business . There is no difference . This is a fact .
