Why is it that as soon as you get toys out to give them away/sell them/get rid…

… they suddenly become the most favourite toys in the world even though they’ve never been looked at twice?!

got all the Toot Toot track and vehicles out as DS has never played with them, never shown an interest. They were packed up in a box out of the way. Turned my back for two minutes he had it all out and has decided he now needs to collect them all. 😂

I explained I was going to get rid of them as he’s bigger now and we are having a clear out of his baby toys but nope, “these are just right for my age” 😂

lesson learned I clearly need to do these things by stealth in the dead of the night

Stealth in the dead of the night might work but my son has a habit of not playing with things for months and then all of a sudden asks for it and it is always the thing I have just given to charity the day before. My other half spent ages looking for a dinosaur that my son had won at hook a duck. He saw a little boy playing with the same one and then decided he wanted his. I had given it to the charity shop as he has quite a few and never bothered with it. I think it is a no win situation 😂

I have to do clear outs when my kids are at school, otherwise I have the same problem. When my daughter then asks for the items I've got rid of, I pretend to think and then say 'I'm not sure, perhaps it's in the loft?'
I just hope she never asks me to go in the loft and get them 😂

I wanted ds to get rid of some toys when he was a young teen. He simply said, “I’ve seen Toy Story 3, Mum.”
