Steve Wright new radio 2 show
What secret does he know that is being kept quiet? Or is it some practical joke of radio 2, some bet between executives.

Bang goes the last remaining show I listened to on R2. I can’t bear Steve Wright. So childish, and always talks over the records.

I don't get Sunday Radio 2, it's like a weird parallel universe.

I'm glad Gambo's going. I never thought he was right for Pick of the Pops. He's great on American music programmes but I never felt he ' got' POTP & usually missed any quirky hits to play a "future American No1" which would often be something regularly played on the radio.
Steve Wright will be better.
I would've rather Gary Davies got it though!

Something about him gives me the creeps, and I've never been able to explain why.
Not to mention the 'love the show Steve' messages he'd always read out. Made him seem like a right twat.

I've just stumbled across this thread as there's yet another thing on radio 2 with Steve wright on. I can't flipping stand him.

What I'd love to know is where Steve Allen has gone..I loved listening to him on LBC when the kids woke me up early! I can't find out where he's gone though...

I would have agreed once, but having tried and failed to be able to listen to Scott Mills, I can honestly say I'd rather have Steve back in the afternoon. At least he's cheery.

He's on again today. Thankful to R2 though for promoting the fact that he'll be on so that I can avoid the station like the plague for a day.

Haven't listened to the radio for years, cannot stand the boorish presenters waffling on and on and on. Radio has had its day, podcasts are much better.

Just heard that too. Steve Wright was one of the soundtracks to my childhood. So sad. He was 69.
