4yr old party food ideas

Right, what are the absolute must haves for 4yr old birthday party food?! Think there'll be around 15-20 kids.
I always think folk do sandwiches and then they just get nibbled.

Need savoury and will do some fruit salad or fruit kebab or something.

Hit me with your ideas! :)

Cold pizza is far more likely to be eaten than sandwiches IME.

If you do sandwiches cut the crusts off and keep fillings simple. Ham or cheese or chicken for example. Don't put veg in the sandwich, if a kid doesn't like cucumber they won't pick it out they just won't eat the sandwich. And do half as many sandwiches as you think you will need! Pin wheel wraps are sometimes good as an alternative. Strawberry and grapes on skewers are popular. Pom bears and wotsits are obligatory, as are party rings and chocolate fingers. Cocktail sausages go down well and easy to do veggie sausages if required. Pizza fingers and chicken nuggets also go down well but are nicer if served warm (not essential though). Veg wise I'd do cucumber, carrot and pepper sticks.

Basic sandwiches like ham / cheese / jam or pizza

Breadsticks / cracker

Cocktail sausages / sausage rolls

Cheese cubes

Bags of crisps

Cucumber sticks / carrot sticks / chopped grapes etc

Diluting juice

Oh and yes something sweet like plain biscuits / mini fairy cakes / choc crispy cakes

Sandwiches always get eaten at the parties we go to - but you only want crustless white bread with ham and cheese fillings (not together) cut in to fingers.

Cold pizza in small slices
Cold chicken nuggets

Pepper, carrot, cucumber and cherry tomatoes

Sausages on sticks, sausage rolls (plus veggie alternative if needed)

Then grapes, berries, party biscuits and cake.

Avoid mealtimes and offer cake and milkshake!

Sandwiches always get eaten at parties here - fillings are usually tuna Mayo, ham & cheese, sometimes jam too.
Pepper, cucumber & carrot
Fruit (melon is very popular, as are strawberries & grapes)
Cocktail sausages and/or sausage rolls
Popcorn
Oreo's & party rings (bonus because they're vegan!)
Plain salted crisps, Pom Bears, Quavers etc

Make sure you're aware of any dietary requirements too & cater if possible.

Only get crisps/Pom bears/Pringles that are ready salted - no cheese and onion. Pop corn goes down well. I went a party recently where the mum had made a range of sandwiches and the chocolate spread went down the best!

Dominoes delivery, that's what I'm doing for my boys party. Simple and stress free

We found the most popular for that age was to do all a party box.
We did finger rolls (fill them vertically then the filling is less likely to fall out), one with cheese in, one with jam. One squeezy yoghurt, one fruit shoot, packet of raisins, carrot sticks and a little cake.
Put them in a little box with their name on the side.
It pretty much all was eaten.

However when we tried that with 7yos we had a constant trickle of "I don't want this" and they didn't eat as much.

Honestly I think sandwiches, crudités and fruit is your best bet, along with birthday cake of course. Call me a party pooper but I get kind of annoyed with all the crappy junk food offered at kids parties.

I was just about the way the same thing.

We were at a bday party a few months back and the kids loved it.

Hot dogs always seem to go down well too.

Hi love this idea. How did you keep Cucumber and Carrots together and not make rest of the food soggy?
