I hope I did the right thing.

A couple were screaming at each other and literally fighting over a buggy with a toddler in it. They also had an argument alt teen and a young child with them. It was just horrible for those poor children

Sounds like you did the right thing. Did you mean they were both pulling at the buggy with toddler in?

obladeeobladah · 10/08/2023 13:03

Yes he got it then she pulled it away then he got it again.

Crowded street in london. Everyone watching. Screaming at the top of their lungs

I don't understand how anyone can stand watching something like that. Did the police come straight away do you know?

obladeeobladah · 10/08/2023 13:34

Not sure- I couldn't stay.

The upsetting thing is that the children just acted like it was the most normal thing in the world

The operator did say it was being treated as urgent and someone would be there within 15 mins

Sadly, it is probably a regular occurrence for them so they are somewhat used to it 😞

Bit disgusted at it taking 15 mins to get there. Alot could happen to a child in 15 mins

Startyabastard · 10/08/2023 13:38

Christ! How immature of the adults.
You did the right thing.

WITHIN 15 mins- do you honestly think there's enough officers to be 2 minutes away from everything at all times and just readily available with no other jobs ongoing?

OP you did the right thing!

You did the right thing. I always have to stop myself marching over to situations like this. Experience watching others and getting involved in a couple of things myself has shown me these types can’t be reasoned with 99% of the time - they triple up their anger at you. What’s worse is the kids will be in even worse trouble when they get home.

obladeeobladah · 10/08/2023 14:23

I probably wouldn't have done anything if it hadn't been for the physical fighting over the buggy, am too afraid of confrontation myself. They had calmed down a bit by the time I left and were sitting on a bench by the bus stop so fingers crossed they were still there when the police arrived. I keep thinking about the poor teen as she was so embarrassed as well
