DP has convinced me to fly down with him as he’s on a business trip in Luton. Going to fly into Gatwick (plane lands at 7.50am) then train from there (into Victoria? Or is there a better easier way?)

DP will be heading straight to meetings etc and can’t check into hotel until 3pm.

Had thought I’d catch the matinee of a show but there is literally nothing on Tuesday afternoons except kids shows!

Any ideas on how to make the most of 5/6hrs? Quite fancy some nice sushi/Japanese food for lunch if any recommendations there too!

DH did the Gunpowder Plot with our teenagers and they enjoyed it.

Tate Modern and Shakespeare Walking Tour at The Globe?
National Portrait Gallery has reopened- it used to have a lovely bar!

Train to Victoria, yes
I would recommend a gallery - either of the tates, or the national, or the national portrait gallery. What do you like? Tate modern for conceptual/ spectacular stuff, the others for more museum-y/cerebral. If I was you I would probably walk from Victoria to picadilly, see what’s on at the Royal Academy, and then wander into Mayfair and Soho.

for Japanese food, I recently went to oka in carnaby street, which was good.

Oh it’s the summer exhibition at the RA of course! Quite interesting … but quite possibly tate modern would be more interesting for you. Look at this! It looks fantastic

Sotheby's Freddie Mercury auction is being exhibited before the sale - you can visit.

Van Gogh experience is supposed to be lovely but I think that might be in Shoreditch.

Royal Academy is a good shout.

The Summer Exhibition - it’s always a highlight!

I had an AS to see if anyone had posted this , we went this weekend , it was amazing and so busy , over an hour to get in.

So many fascinating belongings (must've spent all day dusting or had a team of cleaners )
And I hadn't realised how teeny Freddie Mercury was (he was 5'9"/5'10" depending on where you search but his clothes were tiny !)

Inko Nito for sushi in Soho

That's a lovely exhibition on Georgian dress at buckingham Palace if that appeals.

If it was me I would spend a few hours in aire roman spa baths though!
