Where do your 13 year old boys get smartish hoodies?

My DS is almost 13 and is still a bit small so he's in between kids and men's sizes. He needs some new hoodies and we're struggling with where to get them from. He is fine for sports hoodies like Nike etc but would love some smart-ish hoodies to wear shopping then out for dinner. I can't get him to wear anything else other than hoodies.
He had a look online and ordered lots from asos in size 2XS but they arrived today and they are all massive on him.
Any ideas?

Xs from boohoo man come up pretty small. I buy them for my own 13 year old son

FlorencenotRatchet · 09/08/2023 20:33

H&M and Zara was my go to when my son was younger.

pharmachameleon · 09/08/2023 20:37

Thanks. Boohoo man looks too big still. The XS is a 32 chest and DS is 28 chest. He's slim and not had a growth spurt yet.

I think you probably still want kids ranges - I think age 15-16 is closer to the bottom of men's ranges.
That said ASOS and, bizarrely, Amazon, seem to have unusually small sizes - that's where I've found 26" waist jeans. Might be worth a look.

pharmachameleon · 09/08/2023 22:05

Thanks @CatsOnTheChair. I'll have a look at Amazon.

H and m always seem to be smaller in size and have both men’s and kids so hopefully you’ll find something also the same for Zara and also River Island

DaisyThistle · 09/08/2023 22:08

Uniqlo is worth a look as they have a lovely kids range but also do very small men's sizes.

Loopyloooooo · 09/08/2023 22:09

Next might be a good shout?

Copperoliverbear · 09/08/2023 22:41

Zara ones are lovely they don't even need ironing. X

Justicebieber · 09/08/2023 22:48

Hollister?

pharmachameleon · 09/08/2023 23:01

Thanks all. I thought Next would be perfect but he doesn't really like any of the kids hoodies online. He's starting to get opinions about his clothes! He never used to care and just wore anything I bought him but note he's getting very picky!

DS is 11 but very tall so generally around age 13 for clothes. I get a fair few of his clothes from M&M direct. He isn't into sports brands so we buy things like Jack Jones, Kangaroo Poo etc which is a little smarter.

AvengedQuince · 09/08/2023 23:16

If he's that small then surely he's still in children's sizes, probably a 12?

MintJulia · 09/08/2023 23:16

Sifting through dozens of hoodies at Next, H&M and Tesco usually produces one or two that are tidy & a suitable size.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/08/2023 23:17

Hollister. They start at XXS I think - DS is on the small side, and they've always fitted him well. They wash and wear well too.

CapEBarra · 09/08/2023 23:17

Superdry - but go to the women’s section. I did this for my small teen boy. They’re the same as men’s but they have XS and XXS - and plenty of navy, grey, and black, and they are a great fit and great quality.

Saisong · 09/08/2023 23:22

I was also going to suggest looking in women's section, particularly H&M. My 16yo DD gets plain (black, navy, grey) hoodies & trackies from there, they do xs sizes.

Thatboymum · 09/08/2023 23:22

We get most of ours from Flannels

Bugbeau · 09/08/2023 23:28

Vans kids size L or XL will be good & they don’t look like kids hoodies, just a smaller size.

mangokiwi · 10/08/2023 08:33

Have bought nice hoodies from Fatface, M&S and Tesco for around age 12/13.

mangokiwi · 10/08/2023 08:34

Also a nice converse hoodie

pharmachameleon · 10/08/2023 09:00

Thanks so much everyone. Loads of great ideas. I'll look online tonight with him and we'll hopefully get something that he likes and fits.

Fat face, salt rock etc?

veryberrypericherry · 10/08/2023 09:10

I tend to get North Face and Vans ones on Vinted. He has 3 immaculate ones that were absolute bargains!
