Publishing a children’s book

Hi,
I have an idea for a children's book and would love to write it but don't know where to start. Any advice would be greatly welcomed!
I've got the bones of the story down, it's a short picture book story but I don't have an illustrator and am unable to draw.
This book would be for my DC and family rather than to sell etc but would like to try and get it published rather than self publishing. Is this possible without an illustrator?

Hiya, you would probably need an illustrator, there are lots of facebook groups for authors where there are illustrators looking for work.
I self published my first childrens book recently through KDP which is Amazons publishing service. It was pretty straightforward.
I guess all things depend on how much money you want to spend. Good luck !
