How much does your dog walker charge?

Autumnismyfavouritetime · 09/08/2023 09:13

I am returning to work and need a dog walker.
I have contacted a few local walkers and have been quoted anything from £10-£25 per hour.
Just wondering what everyone pays?

£17 for 30 mins walk

Needlepointy · 09/08/2023 09:16

11 pounds for an hour. Another one we use is £13.

Cherrysoup · 09/08/2023 10:51

Most round here are about £30 an hour, but walk with a group of dogs, many have liveried vans. Mine charges £20 for all 3 (very easy, sociable) dogs, literally does a 20 minute walk, which isn’t enough but it’s totally impossible to find someone to do the occasional days that we need and she takes them alone to the park we prefer.

£12 for an hour group walk. With travel he is often gone for more like 2 hours.

I have see. Some advertised for £20 an hour though.

Leo227 · 09/08/2023 10:54

12 if single dog
we have 2 so pay 11 an hour each

Hellohah · 09/08/2023 10:55

Mine have a private field, so pick them up and let them run for an hour before bringing them back. He's out of the house for nearly 2 hours. That's £10.

Do you have daycare locally? Mine goes there once a fortnight and it's £26 for a full day. They're open 7 to 6.30.

Forgoodnesssakewhatnow · 09/08/2023 10:55

£12 for an hours group walk

Autumnismyfavouritetime · 09/08/2023 10:58

Thanks everyone.
Hellohah I have contacted the local day care but they are all full unfortunately.

£12 for an hour.

Although there seems to be an abundance of dog walkers, most don’t have any spaces. Our dog isn’t even two, and we’re on our 4th dog walker! The last 3 changed jobs.

HadEnoughOfBears · 09/08/2023 12:32

£11 for a hour with our regular one and the one who covers when that one is on holiday is £15 for 45 mins.

Knowivedonewrong · 09/08/2023 12:58

Dog walker here: £20 for 1 hour £ 25 for 90 minutes.

WiggelyWooWorm · 09/08/2023 13:00

£14 per dog per hour - group walk

uncomfortablydumb53 · 09/08/2023 13:01

£11 daily but it's not time limited
He's often out for 2 hours or more and has a fantastic time
I'm disabled so he's worth every penny and has become a friend now
I'm in Wiltshire

Enko · 09/08/2023 13:03

£13.50 a walk. He takes Ddog on a group walk often out for 2-3hours. Ddog loves it. Dogwalker has been with us since dog was 4 months old.

Very occasionally it's a 1 hour walk but never less.

We are in SE.

Sarfar45 · 09/08/2023 13:03

We use 2, one charges £13 for a group walk, other one charges £15 per walk. It's always at least an hour's walk a lot of the time a bit longer.

Sgtmajormummy · 09/08/2023 13:22

Have a look on the Rover app for walkers/sitters in your area.
Mine does 1.5 hours for €25.

Nw22 · 09/08/2023 13:32

We pay £24 for day care but we had to wait 3 months to get a place

TheFlis12345 · 09/08/2023 13:36

Ours is £14 per hour for a group walk (he’s usually actually gone about an hour and a half) and I think an individual walk is £17 or £18.

JimnJoyce · 09/08/2023 13:37

£10 for an hour

SirChenjins · 09/08/2023 13:43

£10 an hour for a small group walk, but by the time she does the pick ups and drop offs on either side he's away for 2 hours. He absolutely adores her and I think he'd happily dump me for her if he could.

EverythingHurtsAndImHungry · 09/08/2023 13:54

£16 for 2 dogs for about 50 minutes.
One walker we met, quoted us £20 per hour, PER DOG!!

allofthelove · 09/08/2023 14:23

16.50 for 3 hour day care

HI - I occasionally walk my friends dog. She advertised locally asking for someone to walk her dog, I applied and its now been nearly 2 years since that ad, and I still walk her dog - when she is going on holiday mostly. She pays me £12 but If its a nice warm sunny day, I will be out for most of the day, We have some lovely country walks near where I live. I answered an ad - 2 dogs, 4 walks a day, and to stay in the house - I charged £30 PD and the individual thought it was expensive, I also had to stay at the house all day and o/n, paid for my own food etc. The individual thought it was too expensive PD, she didn't want to pay 'X' - £30 to look after 2 big dogs, walk them 4 times aday, feed them both, stay at the home - so the dogs could be let out and I would be with them - is £30 too much or not enough ?

cruisenan · 23/04/2025 16:17

i pay 18 a walk gets picked up 9.30 taken to field with agility course water course etc dropped of after 1pm

bugalugs45 · 23/04/2025 16:21

£12 an hour , but sometimes she has big groups
which makes me a little uneasy as you can’t really watch or control 4/5 dogs at a time.
I would rather pay more for a solo walk but unfortunately that isn’t an option .
My dog absolutely loves his time with her though so for
the moment I’m just going with it .
