Heading to Covent Garden for an evening show with DS(11) and DD(8) on Thursday but we want to go early and looking for ideas of areas to explore...

They are quite young for their ages so anywhere with a decent playpark?? All the big parks I seem to remember are just green space? We've done the Southbank / Big Ben / river cruise / Tower of London on previous trips.

Any areas that are good for a mooch / drink / grab some lunch in the sun??

We are coming in to Euston and up for walking or travelling by bus - would prefer to avoid the tube.

There's a pretty good playground in the corner of Regent's Park closest to Euston, near Marylebone road.
Or there's the fountains in granary square behind King's Cross, and there's a small playground round the side of the Waitrose there.

Kings Cross? If it's sunny there's a play fountain in Granary Square, plenty of places to eat, Harry Potter connections and a nature reserve. Also canal museum!

There's Coram's fields not far from Euston with a great playground. Then lambs conduit Street is good for (quite a quick, tbh) mooch. Short walk to covent garden from there.

Is it going to be sunny then? Bloody hurray if so.

Some lovely ideas here thank you!! After a week in windy rainy Cornwall I am desperate to make the most of any nice weather we have

Sun? Weather in London has been as unsettled and poor as most places.

There's no sun!

Just across the river from Covent Garden is the 'Appearing Rooms' fountain . It's outside the Festival Hall. It is such a laugh for kids and perfect for a hot day .
