Rewaterproofing coats

Discovered DS' coat has lost its waterproofing. Probably from too many post scout fire washes. Can anyone recommend a good way to rewaterproof a coat please

We use Nikwax for ours. I think you can do it in the washing machine. Check it out on Amazon.

As PP, Nikwax, you can get the twin pack set on Amazon, the first wash removes the old waterproofing and then you rewash in the new, works really well.

Another vote for nikwax. Can waterproof anything with that.

I use nikwax as well.

Yes, Nikwax Techwash.
It needs direct heat to activate it, so iron or radiator

It depends a bit on what type of waterproof the coat is.

Nikwax is brilliant but it isn't magic so if a waterproof coating is breaking down the coat might be beyond saving.

Generally avoid washing waterproof clothing in normal detergent and use nikwax techwash every time then add nikwax tx direct when the waterproofing is less efficient and needs topping up.

Fabsil is a fair bit cheaper than Nikwax and IME just as good for horse rugs.

Thanks all. I will do some Amazon shopping.
