How much you would you expect this to be?

We are currently homeless and having to stay in a motel. We are moving tomorrow to another temporary accommodation.

Weve been here since Wednesday. I’m so glad the council are paying cos I personally think it’s expensive.

We are talking one bedroom upstairs with 3 beds and an en-suite.

A living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and another bedroom downstairs though they weren’t originally going to let us have the bathroom and bedroom downstairs as it’s a part of another chalet.

So how much do you think?

Food is another issue. I’m talking £10.45 for bacon, egg, chips and beans. We aren’t talking fine dining here. We are talking basic cafe grub.

I'm assuming there's some sort of 'fleece the public sector' add on premium which will find its way into a Tory donors pocket?

£200 pn?

Can’t you cook your own food in the kitchen?

MintJulia · 07/08/2023 19:27

So two bedrooms, living room, kitchen & bathroom. Designed to sleep 5 or 6?

It depends. Rural Yorkshire, maybe £250. Central London ? £750?

We can. I just fancied some egg, bacon, chips and beans tonight. Since it was our last night here

and it’s £163 a night. Absolute shocker

That doesn't sound expensive to me - that's comparable to premier inn prices for an en suite room. And you are getting a kitchen, living room and an extra bedroom. Am assuming it's clean and well maintained

I would think the council should be getting a discount since they guarantee every night is booked, whereas normally a hotel room might be empty some nights.
