Different parenting styles

How do you deal with family that parent sooo differently from you?

Just been on a multigenerational holiday with DH and our two DC, MIL/FIL and SIL and two nieces.

SIL parents very differently from us. Which is absolutely her prerogative except it does cause issues. Nieces are never ever told no and pretty much allowed to do whatever they like.

Whole holiday has felt like it's revolved around the nieces (6&3) with little consideration for anyone else. 3 year old punched MIL in the face and nothing was said. My DD has a large bruise where she was hit by the three year old. Children hitting siblings and potentially parents is fairly normal, but imo hitting grandparents and cousins is crossing a line.

Putting me off ever holidaying with them again!!

Just make excuses and don’t go away with them again.
