Just that really had a lovely (if wet) week off and it’s gone so quickly…

I really really want to have a few more days off!

I woke up at 5am with some sort of anxiety about it all I know I am going to have around 200 emails to sift through and god knows how much work etc?!?

Oh this is the worst feeling.

Do some deep breaths, maybe a little 10 min exercise and then Get the going in over and done with. By the end of the day the worst will be over.

Have you got some other time off or events coming up you can look forward too?

OnlineExxxcitement · 07/08/2023 06:56

Ohh this is the worst feeling. Concur with meditation. Thr feeling is worse than the reality though, in my experience. Good luck... an extra long chatty lunchbreak with colleagues to ease you in? Or a Costa coffee as a treat? Anything!

Roselilly36 · 07/08/2023 07:05

I can empathise with that feeling, but once you have been back in for half and hour or so and you will be fine. Good luck today OP.

I have the bank holiday off at the end of August and then a week off for October half term! So I have a long weekend to look forward to.

I have just logged on 272 emails 😫😫

I am working from home today..so apart from some Teams calls with my work colleagues I won’t get to see them.

Going to make a coffee then sort out my calendar for this morning & filter the emails for todays work I’m sure once I’ve done that I will feel better

Maybe time to look for a new job?

Hope your day goes well.

I had that situation last week. Sympathies! It sounds like you have a plan though. You'll be ok ( and you'll forget you've ever been off!)

I was listening to a Michael Mosely 'Just One Thing' podcast and he was talking about the value of taking regular short breaks, and how research shows that it increases productivity as well as being better for your health. Especially if you can nip outside and breathe in some air.
Have a lovely day @AreMyDucksinarow

I've been off for 10 days but I also booked today off because I didn't want to go in on a Monday! I also logged on yesterday to clear my emails as I have a meeting first thing tomorrow. Have a busy day planned today and then a four day week.

Parkermumma07 · 07/08/2023 07:27

I’m exactly the same just been off for 9 days first day back today. Completely dreading the emails!! Most of which will be irrelevant now but still need reading

RumNotRun · 07/08/2023 07:40

Same here 😞 I've gone through most of my emails and there are either ones from people asking stupid bloody questions that they should know the answer to, or ones asking for updates on things they could look up themselves.

Is it time to log off yet?

gingeristhenewblack43 · 07/08/2023 07:53

🙋🏼‍♀️ been off for 2 weeks and don't want to log on this morning. I did check my emails at the end of the first week off to filter out the irrelevant. I'm wfh today which makes it easier as I had a rubbish sleep last night.
