Just wondering if anyone had been to Lopud (island off Dubrovnik) on holiday?

I’d really love to know what it was like? Any information or tips from your stay?

It’s a beautiful island and very laid back. No cars, I believe. But I last went in 1989 and stayed at the Lafodia Hotel, which is still there. The only thing I’d mention is from memory, the ferry ride to snd from Dubrovnik is about 40 minutes.

Not stayed there but had a day there and thought how lovely it was and how much I’d like to stay there. Had an amazingly simple but completely delicious sage and butter pasta dish. It’s very quiet and it’s small, so depends on whether you were seeking the high life or complete slow way of life.

thank you both for replying. Happy with slow way of life. Not seeking nightlife although places to eat would be good. We are going for a week and hope to do mostly pool/beach with 2-3 trips.

Yes we went a couple of years ago. It was absolutely gorgeous. There isn't loads to do, so if you just want to relax it's ideal. The only things we really did was to walk to the beach on the other side of the island and go on a boat trip. The rest of the time we just lay on the beach.
There are enough restaurants and they are all right next to the sea, with sunset views.
If you want a bit more going on, I recommend Korcula, which is a larger island, and also gorgeous, but it's a longer journey from Dubrovnik.

Ooh thank you so much for replying. That sounds wonderful. I was getting a bit nervous as I’ve struggled to find many reviews or people who have stayed there. We’ve just booked for a week and we were thinking of mostly lazy pool/beach days as well as a trip to Dubrovnik and a boat trip (depending on costs). Did you book the boat trip whilst you were there or should we be doing that in advance?

Our boat trip was arranged by the hotel I think, as part of our deal, and was just a circuit around the perimeter of the island. So I am not sure. There are probably more interesting trips to do. I doubt you need to book ahead though.
Have a lovely time ☀️
