Its getting dark so early

Just been out to tidy the garden and it's really getting dark in the evenings. Seems so autumnal already. Even smells it. I love autumn but its so early.

Neighbours have had a bonfire so that adds to the smell.

It is my contention that August is autumn. The summer hols need to be shifted to may/june.

I agree it feels really autumnal this weekend, it’s my favourite season so I am very happy :)

I remember when at school the holidays always seemed like hit and miss weather, then usually nice in September when back! I agree school holidays would be better in July but guessing it doesn't work out with the terms following Christmas and Easter etc.

In years when we have had a decent summer I don’t mind so much but given it’s poured with rain almost every day for weeks now I feel really cheated out of a summer and pretty low in mood about the upcoming autumn .

I also believe that August is the start of autumn. We do an (outside) evening activity through summer (may-august) and the August ones always feel chilly with fading light.
