Missed connecting flight. What happens?

Someone is waiting for an internal flight to Copenhagen, with a 1.5 hr wait for a connection to London. The internal flight is getting pushed back and back.

They've now got 35 mins to connect.

What happens if they miss the onwards connection?

Is it a through fare?

Assuming it's all booked on the same flight number, they'll be put on the next connecting flight instead. So best check the schedule.

If the journey is all one airline/one ticket booked together they will find space on another flight later in the day. I think you are responsible for sorting out a missed connection when the flights were booked separately.

Go to the airline desk and they will put you on another flight, assuming you have a through ticket.

If it was bought as one ticket (doesn't matter what airlines, it needs to have been bought as City-London, with a change in Copenhagen) the airline will sort it.
If it is with DAT to Copenhagen, and then a separate ticket with, e g. Jet2 to London, a new ticket will be at the passengers cost.

If there are no more flights same day they also have to cover hotel accommodation (assuming flights weren’t booked separately)

If same airline they usually put you on next one available free.
