Festival, medication and alcohol

Hi all,

Im going to a festival on Wednesday and I haven’t been away from the kids for 7 years, so I plan to enjoy myself. However, I am on cocosamol and pregablin for pain management. I can go without the cocodamol or at least significantly reduce the dose, but cannot go without the pregablin. Issue is I’m planning on drinking. I don’t normally drink, but I really want to just be free without putting myself at major risk though.

is there anything I can do? Im planning on speaking with GP about it on Monday (if I can get an appointment) but was just wondering if I can do something at least to put myself at less of a risk

If you stop your medication there will be period of time where it's still in your system, sometimes this can be a few days to a week so you need to consider the half life of the medicine.

I'd ask a pharmacist rather than a GP.

GP is likely to just advise you not to drink.
