House boat set up on a river in the US. They can have 2 or 3 storeys I believe.
Cheaper than land built houses and don’t appreciate as much but I guess living so close to nature would be great. Fully equipped with utilities. Who knew !

Gosh, that’s quite weird, @Itisyourturntowashthebath — it looks as if the whole point of the interior is to seem like it’s not a boat, yet you’re paying over a grand in monthly mooring fees on an annual rollover basis (so presumably the owners don’t move it) AND can’t get a mortgage?

It is isn't it @Wheatear . There must be a certain type of person who it works for, I just struggle to work out who.
Mind you that is a fairly extreme example of a house boat, semi-rural canal boats are probably more common and I know a few people who live on them.
