What to do with medical equipment you don’t need?

My mum has loads of unused catheter bags she was given by the hospital recently. She no longer needs them.

Should she just chuck them away? GP/district nurse can’t take them, hospital can’t take them, pharmacy can’t take them.

Seems such a waste!

The local nursing home should be glad of them.

We had a similar issue and found a local charity collecting for refugees abroad and were over the moon with medical things

There is a website called skiggle where people can list what they have and if others need it they can ask for it

Maybe try your local facebook page. On my local facebook pages things like that are often posted as Doctors/PHN/Nursing Homes will not take them as they do not know they were stored correctly etc (this extends to crutches, wheelchairs etc)

They won’t take it either - she tried them yesterday.

Nowhere will take them because of infection control.

Someone on your Local Facebook fb page might take them.
