MIL visits and keeping your sanity. Possible?

Hi,

Currently have mine over and am having to hide in my bedroom already. On day 2 😶 Had a good scream into my pillow earlier, which helped briefly, but 😫😫

Anyone fancy joining me for a moan?....

Why is it always the MIL on here, do you want to hide from your own mother when she comes to visit? And remember you may be one one day too.

Gin drinker raises a good point.

What is it about your mil op that's caused you to scream into a pillow...

FajitasandMargaritas · 05/08/2023 17:19

Jeez, this was only supposed to be light hearted. It doesn't have to be MIL. Could be anyone who visits regularly that you find challenging.

I have had two MIL, first was a delight. Second is dreadful.

She is a misogynist and a snob. She has disordered eating and a very limited diet, no allergies but just won’t entertain many food groups. She also treats DH like he is still 5 years old.

Summerwhereareyou · 05/08/2023 17:24

Yes but if you tell us what she's done it's more helpful.

FajitasandMargaritas · 05/08/2023 17:27

Mine feels the need to fill every silence. It's exhausting. The enthusiasm is draining the life out of me. Think Parker from Friends...

"My god, what a fantastically lit hallway"

I'm like that op😂...

Esp where in some better inspiring and like what they have done..

@FajitasandMargaritas mine is like that - never shuts up it is utterly draining! Also
doesn’t listen to anything as too busy either talking or thinking about what she is going to say!
