Kids moving NHS dentist - will/do I need/get their records for anything?

The dentist we have been since DC1 was born have decided they are no longer serving NHS patients. I have miraculously been able to find a new NHS dentist for them (I think they are a chain) but is there any reason we should have their records from before? How does it work?
TIA for info on this

No dental records are not routinely passed on. A dentist can see or x Ray what they need to know.
The exception is if they have had x rays in the last 12 months you should ask them , in writing , to forward any recent x rays to your new practice.
