How to get student id card

DS is in sixth form. How does he get a student id card? People have suggested unidays but this doesn't give a physical card that can be used to get discount at museums/galleries for example. Is there an "official" site that we need to look at?

Does unidays have an app? I remember mine having unidays but I can't remember if it was a card or an sop.
Does he have a school ID card for access to the school? Most of them do now.

Is he eligible for a totum card?

Depends on his email address for his sixth form. So will be usable but a lot of places it requires a ".ac.uk" ending email address.

Sorry just realised you want it for physical places. His school may be able to issue him an ID card but in a sixth form rather than a college it is unlikely they will have a Student Union so he may not be able to get an NUS Totum card. I don't know ghe current rules as I have been out of an SU for a few years now.

DS at uni doesn't have a physical card. Unidays is the one they use for discounts and it's just an app.

He will have a student ID card though which can be used. A lot of schools don't give these out.

It can be used but it isn't because they use unidays.

The OP is asking about physical places where you need to show a card though to get the student price like museums etc..... so he can't do that through Unidays.

I think I have misunderstood what OP is asking.

DS uses unidays for discounts everywhere, he just shows his ID on the app to wherever he is. Cinema/museum/shops etc. I didn't realise some places insisted on a physical student card. It's certainly not the norm/
