Vinted seller lost item - how do I get refund?

seller has contacted me (very apologetic) saying they have lost the item I’ve paid for, so can’t send it. How do I get my money back?

I think from googling that I have paid vinted in a ‘holding’ way and it gets released to the seller on receipt, but what happens if it isn’t sent?

Sorry if this is covered in other threads, I couldn’t find the answer! Thanks in advance

They give the money back after a short period. I bought something and the seller didn’t contact me and I was refunded without having to do anything. It’s a pretty good system for the buyer I think - you seem well protected.

I think the seller needs to cancel the sale and you will be refunded.

One of my buyers wasn't happy with an item - they claimed the trousers were shorter than described in the listing and wanted to return them.

I didn't know if they were right or trying it on, but I CBA arguing for a few quid, especially as I probably would have had to pay for return postage, so I just clicked an option that allowed them a refund without needing to return the item, so I assume that your seller has something similar if they go into the app and click on the item that you've bought, there will be an option for them to cancel the sale. You should then be refunded by Vinted.

I bought something a couple of months ago. I didn't hear anything from the seller, and without having to chase, Vinted automatically refunded me. I think the seller had about 5 days to post an item. They didn't stick to this timeline so I got my refund. The item never turned up, and I didn't hear from the seller at all. No sorry, nothing.

Either the seller can cancel the sale, or, if they haven't posted it within 5 days then Vinted automatically cancel the sale and refund you. You don't need to do anything
