Is there such a thing as personal movers insurance (for moving house)?

I'm a fairly 'belts and braces' person.

We're due to move house next weekend - we have booked a packing and removals service. They have many good reviews on many different platforms. They are insured with movers insurance.

We have contents insurance in our current house, and contents and buildings insurance in our new house, neither of which cover us for the move.

But I'd like to get moving insurance, if we can (the same way as we buy holiday insurance). Does that exist?

What are you wanting insured? Presumably the removal firm is taking all your belongings, so what is left over that needs insuring separately?

Ignore the above post, I obviously just moved on a wing and a prayer. 😂Seems it is a good idea. (Unless of course it was in my house insurance policy at the time)

The removal company should have Goods In Transit cover, you can ask to see a copy? It covers by weight though, generally £1300 per tonne. So regardless of value, if your TV weighs 100 kilos, you'll get £130 compensation. You are generally able to increase this cover though, you'll be charged an extra premium.
