We have a long drive down to Portsmouth then outbound overnight/ inbound day ferry to France. Any tips for travelling with 3 under 5s? Thanks

I presume you have a cabin? If they can’t/won’t sleep, walk them around the boat. Be upbeat and tell them how exciting it is. Take lots of snack/drinks/new toys with you.

Is it Brittany ferries?

There is lots going on onboard for small people- head to the huge bar area at the back of the ship when you get on- there'll be a mini disco going on, followed by a meet and greet with Pierre the bear.
There's a small play room with some soft play.
Big self service restaurant and a smaller cafe area.

There's a big carpeted walkway near the shops where my 2 used to run up and down.

Go and count the life boats.
Find the helicopter landing pad.

We always stop at Pizza Hut in Portsmouth for tea on the way out. There's a massive Tesco next door to refuel the car and have a walk around.
Try and check in at the last minute- saves time being stuck in the car waiting.

The day crossing will have a full programme of entertainment planned.

The cabins are small- pack as lightly as you can and try and keep things organised.

We treat the ferry as part of the holiday, go with the flow and don't worry too much.

Have fun 🇫🇷🛳️

I recommend taking a lego set the 5 year old can build.

I bought one on the boat which kept my just turned 6 year old entertained for a couple of hours. Paid full price for one from the boat. You could probably get a cheaper set if you bought in online and brought it with you.
