As per the title. If you have finished work for the week, how do you spend your Friday night?

OP posts:

Single parent of primary school aged twins . Go to my mums for dinner. We chat as I wash up, then board games, card games. Drive home with the music up load to keep the niños awake and then we have a kitchen disco. Fall asleep around 11.

Takeaway ( I never cook on Fridays)
In bed about 6:30 - 7pm as usual.

Unless … any one needs picking up late.

You go to bed at 6:30 pm?

Caledoniablue · 04/08/2023 15:37

Same as every other night in the summer as I work almost every day because its high season. Get ds home from nursery, dinner bath and bed!

In winter when I have some downtime I usually meet up with friends in the pub, or we get a takeaway and a few drinks once ds is in bed

That sounds really cool!

Put on a load of laudry so work clothes are clean (ready to hang out in the morning on the line in summer / winter is straight on airer/rads)
dinner and tv/film and bed at 10. Read until 11 and then up tomorrow morning at 5 (always 5 for no reason, on a Saturday as its just when I wake up) and potter in garden or do some crochet

bananaboats · 04/08/2023 16:44

No set thing, last weekend met a friend for dinner & drinks, tonight going to the in-laws for a takeaway & a catch up. Some weeks pjs straight on & feet up after work!

@determinedtomakethiswork thanks! So rare I'm called cool Grin

Dp and I still live apart so usually he gets here, we have sex and then one of us will cook something.

I note that the food is now sometimes taking priority over the sex. A sad change.

Begonne · 04/08/2023 17:06

it’s just the same as any night - potter around a bit, eat dinner, hang out with the dc if they’re inclined, maybe have a bath, read a book, chat with dh, go to bed. I love the quiet life.

Both dh and I had active social lives until we met each other and found at home what we’d been looking for out. If the dc are away we’ll go to a show or movie and dinner and it’s a lovely treat, but nicer for the rarity.

Anoushkaka · 04/08/2023 17:06

Usually a few drinks and a takeaway.

linelgreen · 04/08/2023 17:11

We always go out for dinner and a nice bottle of wine on a Friday night either just the two of us or if the "kids" are home from uni then they join us with any friends they have with them. After dinner they will then go out on their own and we go back home and will probably open a bottle of fizz to start the weekend off.

ThreeRingCircus · 04/08/2023 17:17

Friday night is my absolute favourite time of the week.

DDs have their dinner then go to bed for 7pm.

DH and I then put on some music, make a G&T, light some candles and sit together in the living room just having a chat about the week or what we've got coming up at the weekend. Just catching up really.

Then something easy for dinner. Oven pizza, nachos, nice pasta dish, occasionally a takeaway.

Then TV and to bed to read our books (like every night.)

froomeonthebroom · 04/08/2023 17:38

Collect the online shop at 5ish then put the radio on and sit in the kitchen with DH, a beer and some nibbles. (We are lucky to have a big kitchen diner with loads of windows to the garden.)

Later have a light dinner, maybe prawn cocktail or naan pizzas, then watch TV. Kids have pizza and hide in their rooms.

LubaLuca · 04/08/2023 17:42

Usually some of the following:

Gym after work
Pub, sometimes into town straight from work with colleagues
Soak in the bath
Nothing special/specific for dinner
Watch TV

Spookyseasonmum · 04/08/2023 17:45

I’m working all weekend so will be getting stuff ready as well as working on a few personal projects. Early night as my alarm goes off at 0300

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 04/08/2023 17:48

Takeaway and television. It's the only night of the week where I have (1) sole control of the remote and (2) no obligation to do anything housey or parentey. it's my "chill out" night.

golddustwomen · 04/08/2023 17:48

It depends if we have plans to go out or not. If no going out plans then we have a couple of drinks, takeaway or cook a pasta dish and tv. Most Fridays the kids stay up and watch a film with us.

golddustwomen · 04/08/2023 17:49

Pre kids it would be get changed at work and straight out. God I loved my pre kids life Grin

Iamnotaloggrip · 04/08/2023 18:00

Tonight it's my turn to put DD to bed so I'll do that when I get home and then try and rustle something up for my tea. DP and the kids have eaten out today so I'm to fend for myself - trying to think of something easy and tasty that goes well with wine! All suggestions welcome...

tealgate · 04/08/2023 18:37

Dropped off one teen to work, picking up another one an hour later. Can't drink as picking up the first one after his shift finishes at 10pm. Sleep then drop teen 2 back at work at 7am.
Tomorrow will be better 😀

U2HasTheEdge · 04/08/2023 18:54

I have just eaten Camembert with nice bread and a huge glass of wine.

I will watch Emmerdale and Corrie, then do some of my new puzzle, or watch a film.

Occasionally ill go out on a Friday night, but I'm usually too tired from work, so I just spend the evening doing what I normally do but with more unhealthy food and wine.

Inextremis · 04/08/2023 19:19

DH works (I'm retired) and picks up the Tesco click 'n collect on the way home. He has a cup of tea and we chat, the dogs insist on playing ball, then he goes to the pub with his mate, and I make an elaborate curry - which I really enjoy - whilst having a couple of drinks. He comes back around 7, we eat, then we either game online (Elder Scrolls) and/or watch something on Netflix or Prime. Bed around 10 pm.

TrickyLicky · 04/08/2023 19:28

Finish work, cook a pizza for DS, then I walk the dog around the local country park. Home for a shower then pjs on and a glass of wine. After DS goes to bed me and DP will have our own pizza or tapas with more wine. I love Fridays!

Coronationstation · 04/08/2023 19:29

Tonight I’ve done some
tidying up, hoovered round until the battery died on the Shark, put some laundry away, changed the bed sheets, been to the supermarket, had a shower and washed my
hair while dinner was in the oven and just sat down to eat dinner with a glass of wine.

WunWun · 04/08/2023 19:29

I made scones with jam and cream. Now I'm sitting around trying to find the energy to tidy up
