Is your teen obsessed with a famous person?

My DD (14) for around the past 6 months has been obsessed with an American singer/songwriter called Conan Gray. I'm not worried as he seems like a lovely guy, very talented and sweet and has completely his own dress style which he is very proud of. He is pretty much all she talks about and spends hours doing 'edits' of his tik toks/videos. She doesn't fancy him but just loves everything he represents. Anyone else's teen obsessed with a famous person?

No, I've got 3 and none of them are. But I think this is fairly common. I certainly remember friends around that age being similar.

No, I have a DS though and I think it's more common with girls. I have a teenage cousin who is obsessed with BTS, like OBSESSED, she has an online fan page dedicated to them.

I'm 37 and have a celeb man crush that's changes every 6 months or so!! :) obsessed is perhaps a bit strong but still haha

Getting back to the op my step teens aren't into anyone like that... I was a huge Eminem fan at 16-17 like massively obsessed but I think it may be less common for teens now maybe

There are still plenty of teens obsessed with ‘celebrities’ whether that’s people with genuine talent or those just famous for being famous. All perfectly normal teen behaviour.

I was pretty obsessed with Madonna in the mid 80s. If the internet has been around then I'd have wasted many hours looking up info & videos on her!
