I can't find a chat function (other than a chatbot) for DVLA so asking here.
I bought a private plate (nothing fancy, just my initials which looks fairly standard) some years ago and put it on my car, then sold that car, bought another and transferred it to that one. However, the car I bought and transferred it to already had a private plate on and the person I bought it from bought it with that plate on (ie, it wasn't the original plate. I don't know what the original plate was).
I've now bought another (additional) car and I was thinking of using, if I can, the private plate that my other car came with and which I swapped for mine. Those plates are in my garage and have been since I bought it in 2018.
Except I don't know if I can and how to go about it. I'm not sure if I put the plate on retention, I can't remember or find any paperwork. It's all confusing to me and DVLA website makes no sense to me.
So I thought someone might have some answers. thanks.
