Because she looks absolutely amazing. But how the fuck is her stomach like that with such a tiny baby? How olds her baby there, like 8 weeks or something ? Not very old that's for sure.
So what magic is this !! It makes me feel so lazy and inadequate, I'm not lazy at all but fucking hell my stomach still didn't look like that 5 years after having my first let alone now after having a 10 month old !!
Just sick of seeing these celebs back to basically pre pregnancy bodies in a matter of months, what am I doing wrong ?

Just me who wishes my stomach was like this post partum ?

She probably worked out regularly before becoming pregnant.

BoohooWoohoo · 04/08/2023 18:23

If this is social media then there's a high probability of photoshop and filters

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 04/08/2023 18:24

I worked out like a demon before giving birth (did 20 lengths of my leisure centre pool the day before which is a main competition venue in east mids so a decent size) and my stomach , despite enjoying lots of exercise and eating well had never been the same.

DustyLee123 · 04/08/2023 18:25

Did she have a section and tummy tuck ?

Quirrelsotherface · 04/08/2023 18:27

In all probability, genes, help with baby and a strict diet and exercise regime.

ifyougochasingrabbits · 04/08/2023 18:27

It's depressing 😞

MistyMorningMelons · 04/08/2023 18:30

She looks like she's got decent abs. That plus not gaining excess weight and continuing to exercise during and after pregnancy, I guess.

7Worfs · 04/08/2023 18:32

Multiple things at play-

Youth
Excellent diet and regular exercise before and throughout pregnancy, absolutely no over-eating
Not breastfeeding
Immediate post-partum diet like low carb and intermittent fasting
Exercising twice a day (stuff like yoga, swimming, running, weights)

Also photoshop.

She's not that young.

She's not that young.

That's what I was going to say - she's 36.

She also had horrendous pre-natal depression.

PinkFlowersBlueVase · 04/08/2023 18:41

I guess it's her job. I'm glad I didn't feel any pressure to take bikini photos a few weeks post-partum. I don't think any woman should feel bad about not 'snapping back'. Some women might feel great and energetic after birth, but for lots of us it's a vulnerable and exhausting time and depending on your birth experience and recovery, heavy exercise or lots of core work might be dangerous. So there's no reason to feel inadequate about not looking like this; your body has done an amazing thing in creating and nurturing new life. Be kind to yourself, OP!

7Worfs · 04/08/2023 18:41

36? Looks younger in the photo. I have no idea who she is, so going by the photo alone.

xPeaceXx · 04/08/2023 18:44

How does NOT breastfeeding help? Surely that is a minus not plus

Clymene · 04/08/2023 18:45

What do photos like this - which have been photoshopped to shit - do? They make women feel shit. And they make men - like the one recently who was horrible to his wife for not looking like this after 3 c sections, feel like this is what women could and should look like after a baby if only they put in enough effort.

I have no idea who this woman is but she's as harmful to women as anorexic bodies being promoted as healthy. It's utterly toxic.

megletthesecond · 04/08/2023 18:53

Youth, luck, exercise during and after pregnancy, diet, money and photoshopping.

3WildOnes · 04/08/2023 18:57

My tummy has looked similar quite soon after the births of all three of mine. I was fit and slim before and I didn't gain much excess weight in pregnancy. I breast fed all of my babies.

Whataretheodds · 04/08/2023 19:02

And the angle of the photo. She's not side-on.

Comparison is the thief of joy, OP.

afuckinggoat · 04/08/2023 19:37

It'll be largely down to genetics. My tummy was flat within 4 weeks of giving birth with both of mine, and my mum was the same with all 3 of us.

I find it a bit awkward when people make comments about it because it's nothing I've done, earned or deserved. Some people were actually a bit sneery after I had my first and appeared thin soon after birth.

Everyone's bodies are different and carrying a baby/giving birth takes an enormous toll on our bodies and mental health. We all need to be kind to each other and to ourselves. Comparison is the thief of joy and the way we look is the least interesting/important part about us.

Agree. It's so toxic

I was quite young when I had all mine and I was definitely influenced by this kind of thing .
I absolutely freaked out at the weight gain with my first and felt absolutely horrible. The first thing I did when I came out of hospital after having him was get on the scales. I barely ate and was down to a size 8 within a month and a size 4-6 by six months pp

With my second one I was around 7.7 stone when I got pregnant. I was so determined to not get as "huge" as I believed I was with my first that actively dieted during pregnancy 😔 I calorie counted obsessively never eating more than 1500 calories a day and also exercised. I was only 8 stone 4 when I gave birth to her. It makes me sad seeing pics of me pregnant because I was so slim

Tbh I am really ashamed because I could have risked her health and it didn't really help my figure anyway as I had c sections

With my 3rd I was more sensible and I made myself eat properly (as I'd had a miscarriage before falling preg with her) but I was still a bit obsessed about the size of my bump etc (ie I wanted it small and neat)

Awful and yes all of this was my own choice however I think pressure from this constant adoration of the celebs who can pop babies out and still look perfect

While I completely agree with the above ...It's funny how all the celebs have these same miraculous snapping back "genetics" though isn't it

InvincibleInvisibility · 04/08/2023 19:47

Mine was flat and muscular very quickly after first birth. Cos I had fantastic abs (serious martial arts training) before getting pregnant and didn't put on much weight (was too sick).

I lost all the weight very quickly too thanks to a monster BF baby (literally drank 3 times what his younger sib did but severe reflux meant he threw it all up).

My body after the 2nd baby was a totally different story as I had stopped all sport and was seriously sleep deprived and surviving on sugar 🤷‍♀️

I think it's doable but we shouldn't expect women to do it IYSWIM. It really depends a lot on your pre pregnancy body.

LadyKenya · 04/08/2023 19:48

By not gaining a lot of weight in pregnancy. Not all women put on lots of weight during that time.

huggiess · 04/08/2023 21:14

I guess I'm jealous !! I wish I could snap back...
I was 7.5 stone with my first, I was definitely under weight but that was due to my lifestyle at the time, partying all the time etc. I put on 3.5 stone! Never did really lose that, but I looked better for it.
M with my second I was 9.5 stone when I conceived, a perfect weight for me, healthy bmi. But I still had the baby belly. I just don't get how these celebs can look that good so soon after giving birth, where the fuck is the flab going?!

It is disheartening, and does make me worry that men, well my dh, might see these women and then think I'm just fat and that this is what all women should be like after giving birth

I agree with your last paragraph

But I would not want a man that shallow and moronic
