Recommendation for period swimming costume for 13 year old

Can anyone recommend a 1 piece swim suit for 13 year old for when she has her period? I'm a bit shocked at price of the modibodi ones. She currently wears a size 10 swim costume so probably looking for a ladies fit.

Funkita period costumes are popular with the girls at swimming club

Thanks - I am still shocked at price of those, 46 quid?!! It's frustrating as she's been told it has to be a one piece and she is such a rule follower. We already have a tanki set thing. I'm worried if I get a cheap one it might leak. But really. 46 quid? Especially as she is likely to only need it this summer.

They all seem to be about that price.
i was shocked at £59 At Modibodi. Wuka was slightly cheaper and they had a 15% off swimwear promotion yesterday which meant I got the costume for about £43 I think, with free delivery

If it’s a tankini with a long enough top will anyone notice it’s not a one piece?

Can I ask what tankini you have?

we booked our holiday to fit DD1s cycle then DD2 started!

Could she wear the tankini bottoms (assuming they are usual bikini style) under a cheaper normal one piece? Not sure how comfortable it would be though or whether it would show through. I have done this with a boy leg swimsuit before so the period bikini bottoms don’t show.

This. Or could you see some poppers onto it so you can argue it's a one piece if need be?

As inchysaurus suggested - can she wear the period bikini bottoms under a normal costume? If so I'll recommend the WUKA bikini bottoms. My 12 year old used them this summer both for swimming pool swimming and on holiday. So did my older daughter. They were both really happy with them.

I got period swimshorts and she wears them over swimtogs. It looks like a one piece. It was 25 pounds .

Comedycook · 04/08/2023 12:43

My dd has the modibodi one. She also has a pair of Primark period pants which she wore under her normal costume on holiday. They were about £8 I think and worked fine.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 04/08/2023 13:12

DD has ModiBodi bikini bottoms which she wears under her ordinary costume, or board shorts, wet suit etc.

RobynNightingale · 04/08/2023 13:33

I got DD something from Sainsburys Luna range for about £15. I don't know how good it is as she's not used it yet, but it looks like an ordinary black swimsuit. Maybe worth a look?

Coronationstation · 04/08/2023 13:53

I'm sure i've seen primark ones recommended on our local facebook group.

Marmiteymuffin · 04/08/2023 15:59

Great thanks all. I've just been in primark and picked up massively reduced period bikini bottoms so will see if they go OK under her costume. It's made worse by fact she will be on a residential trip without me and periods only started recently, so I won't be around to advise or offer different tips. I might check out that sainsbury one too. Thanks!

If she is worried about coping with her period whilst away you could ask the Doctor for norethisterone tablets.

Thanks for the Sainsburys recommendation, have ordered for my DD
