Unusual moves within the UK...

Light-hearted...met someone in a work context who had moved from Cornwall to Sunderland, entirely through personal choice, and it reminded me of a thread on here about a family who had moved from Kent to Brechin.

So, have you made a surprising/unusual move within the UK and how did it come about?

(The Daily Mail are **s etc!)

We moved from a posh leafy street in a Hampshire town to......Clacton on Sea. When we sold the Hants house we were able to buy mortgage-free in Clackers, but we hated it there and sold up after three years. I remember going home to visit family and bumping into an old friend who asked why the hell we'd chosen Clacton!

From there we moved to more salubrious Wiltshire, but although our new (200 year old) home was lovely, the road noise wasn't so great. After a further three and a half years we sold that one and bought a stunning house in Wolverhampton (actually it was Tettenhall, which is far nicer, but unfortunately the whole area seems to get tarred with the same brush as Wolves). We didn't stay there long either 🙄

@LibertyLily At least you've had some adventures! Have you settled down somewhere now?

I think @LibertyLily is the poster who blew everybody’s mind on a thread about the best pieces of our homes! If so she has certainly settled somewhere lovely.
