what shoes to wear in miserable summer

It's tipping it down here and likely to be for the foreseaable - yet muggy. What waterproof shoes are you wearing. Wellies seem a bit OTT, winter boots too hot, and waterproof walking shoes too clunky.

Trainers! They dry out pretty quick

Sandals (Birkenstocks), they dry out quickly enough. Crocs for the allotment and garden.

I wear sandals, hiking ones like tevas - they dry quickly and barefeet dry quicker than socks and trainers.

How.much time are you spending walking in the rain? Normal trainers are fine, I also live in Birkenstocks

uncomfortablydumb53 · 03/08/2023 16:54

My normal trainers

khakitrousers · 03/08/2023 16:59

My grubby third best trainers. They were a squelchy mess after getting caught in yesterday's downpours though.

I made the mistake of buying two pairs of light trainers, plus a cream pair of flat mary janes to wear this summer. They have barely seen the light of day.

Trainers

Hotter Mist. Lined with Goretex.

Walking trainers have been working well for me this year. Waterproof enough to stay dry but not so much so that they are uncomfortably hot.

Binfire · 03/08/2023 17:33

I recently bought some waterproof trail running trainers because I was sick of wet feet (I work at events where I’m outside all day whatever the weather).

They are hot when the sun comes out but my socks are dry when it’s wet.

This summer is the worst!

ginny93 · 03/08/2023 17:35

Leather trainers/pumps - keep your feet dry (providing you step over puddles) and easy to clean

Trainers and Birkenstocks for me too.
