Military coup in Niger

Is anyone else following this story?

From what I understand, a military coup has taken control of the country and kicked France out. France has apparently been mining for good, diamonds, and uranium there for years, without giving Nigeriens a fair cut.

Today, Nigeria has cut electricity to Niger in support of France.

The military are pro-Russian and there' Wagner involvement

They offer protection to gangsters

China and Russia are now taking over Africa and taking the natural resources, instead of the West

As far as many of the locals are concerned, it's still slavery, just a different boot on their necks

That's the thing, I doubt the locals, especially the women and children, will benefit from whatever way that goes sadly.
