In my kitchen. FML. Little bastard baby spiders. I'm sharing the horror as it's too much to deal with alone.

A spider laid her egg sac in the corner of the en suite. She then built a dome of web over herself and the eggs. She stayed there and protected them.

A few days later the eggs hatched out and the mother spider protected them as they got used to life on the outside.

I then noticed that the mother spider looked a lot weaker and then she died. The spiderlings began to eat the body and grew a bit bigger.

I collected them in a tissue and a box and have put them somewhere safe in our covered gazebo as they adjust to being on their own.

Almost every mother spider does this for her eggs. Please don't kill spiders.

Where the fuck do you live??? That's like a tarantula!!! It would be the spiders en-suite now!!

I tried throwing the cat at one, she cried and ran away from it 😂 Then my 15 month old son started crawling around on the carpet chasing it like some demented version of hungry hungry hippos. It was one of those "Wtf do I do....?" Moments, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Ironically we played hungry hungry hippos the the other day there, turns out he's just as shit at the actual game as he qas at his reenactment while trying to munch a spider.

🤣🤣🤣 amazing 🤣🤣🤣

I love my free range fly control. I even feed my house spiders.

DancingInTheRaindrops · 02/08/2023 21:35

Every living creature is just trying to survive.
They don't bother me at all, our houses would be full of flies without them.

🤣🤣🤣 amazing 🤣🤣🤣

Had the cheek to growl at me for laughing at him doing it too, technically i helped the spider escape, kinda infuriating cause now I don't know where it is.

Seryse · 02/08/2023 21:37

For the record I'm fine with spiders if I can see them. But if I see them and then can't see them I panic. Imagining waking up with one on your pillow. Nope!

QueenBitch666 · 02/08/2023 21:38

Congratulations! Spiders are cool 😎

We call those 'Cotton Eye Joes'
Where did they come from? Where did they go?!

Guineapigwoes · 02/08/2023 22:20

Awww congratulations, get yourself over to the baby name thread.

Someome told me a spidery fact the other day - you know sometimes you get little brown blobs on your window frames and ledges - this is spider poop!!

FuckYouEzekiel · 02/08/2023 19:35

Skinny legs! I love these, they eat housespiders.

HOW?! They're twice the size!

Actually... I don't want to know.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 02/08/2023 22:29

Hoover them up and empty it a long way away!!

Mindovermatter247 · 02/08/2023 22:39

We call them dangly spiders in our house, one had babies in our little toilet… we left them, lucky the kids didn’t notice them 😂

Crinkle77 · 02/08/2023 23:23

SoupDragon · 02/08/2023 18:48

Someone told me that those spindly spiders eat other, bigger spiders so you've got yourself an army!

They do! I have cellar spiders in my bedroom but let them stay cos they just sit in their webs minding their own business. A big fucker of a spider recently got caught in the cellar spider web and cellar spider killed it. I was thrilled cos I'm terrified of them massive things

Duckingella · 02/08/2023 23:29

We have a fair few cellar spiders living in our house;they are very welcome even by my dd who's scared of spiders;over the last couple of years we've barely seen any of the awful house spiders;cellar spiders can't bite a human and generally mind their own business.

Giraffe1123 · 02/08/2023 23:33

I knew I shouldn't read this thread but couldn't help myself. I was curious as I've never had baby spiders in my house. Now I wish I could remove the images from my brain. Cue spider nightmares tonight 😭

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 03/08/2023 00:23

If I had baby spiders in my house I'd have a shiver every time I saw them. Cellar spiders would be left alone. False widows would be got rid of at the egg sac stage. As long as they don't migrate to my bedroom I don't care.
I had some baby spiders in my dining room window and they had, what looked like, flea carcasses in their webs. So they were left alone.
I have a cellar spider in my hall and a false widow in my kitchen window, I have rarely seen a fly anywhere other than my kitchen and they dont survive long.

Papernotplastic · 02/08/2023 20:22

The garage was absolutely full of spiders and I just left them to it. Then mice moved in and ate the spiders. Then the dog killed the mice …

It's like Ilkley Moor Ba' T'hat 😀😁😂

@stbrandonsboat I will kill false widows if I see them. Those bastards are known for killing guinea pigs with their bites. I want to keep my piggies safe.

I'm traumatised by the idea that spider sex has been happening in my kitchen.

Don't Google what male spiders do with your washing when it's left out. It will freak you out way more than Dragon butter or Sootikins!
