Has your family ever turned up on Who Do You Think You Are?

I was watching it the other day and a surname from my family turned up and it got me to thinking about how there are bound to be other people watching with the same family.

Have you or anyone you know been watching and thought ‘hang on John Smith married to Sarah Jones and living in Surbiton? That’s my uncle John!’

(probably not, I appreciate this)

Nope. My family seems pretty boring. Even despite a civil war, nothing!

I have a fairly common Scottish surname, so I might prick an ear but not really think about it directly being family.

Yep. I couldn't say it was definitely my family, but correct surname and village!
Was a bit excited for 5 minutes Grin

Not on who do you think you are but there is a famous celeb with the same name as my family, from the same area whose ancestors had the same occupation. I suspect they are related somewhere down the line but it’s a pain in the butt trying to do any ancestry research because every time I put my family’s name into any kind of search engine - their name crops up 🤨

I know practically nothing from either of my Grandparents families (three GPS' were dead/soon to die when I was a baby)

Welsh names on one side, Irish on the other.

That's all I know.

The only reason I would like to be famous is to be asked on to that show, have a crack team doing all the work and simply show up with some tissues, ready for my close ups 🥹
