Where do I go to get the best deal? Do I need a financial advisor? Do I need to pay them? Do I talk to the bank? I’m so clueless

You need to see the best rates with your current lender. If you change lender you now have to pass a 9% affordability check which can make it tricky. I just stuck with my current lender but this was last June. We jumped from 1.9% to 3.84%.
Now rates are around 6 %.

Go online and do the mortgage calculator with your current lender first I would suggest.

Go to a mortgage broker such as London and Country. Their services are free for you (they claim their fee from the providers once mortgages are approved)

Definitely call your current lender. I remortgaged last year and got a product transfer not advertised on their site. It's also so easy & quick, no affordability check, just emailed me a few documents and it was done in less than a week.

L&C are also worth talking to if you are want to look at other lenders (I called them and they said they couldn't find any products to match what my lender was offering). I got my previous remortgage through them.
