Smell and residue of stale almond oil on lovely glass carafe

I have this lovely glass carafe that is very dear to me because of its sentimental value. I've used it for aromatherapy, decanting almond oil into it. However, I made a mistake and left the oil in the carafe for several years. Although I've disposed of the oil now, the inside and outside of the carafe are left with sticky residue and a lingering smell.

What concerns me is the carafe's delicate, thin glass, which makes me hesitant to use very hot water or scrub too harshly for fear of damaging it. I'm wondering if there's anything I could use that would gently remove the oil residue and the lingering smell without causing harm to the carafe. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, I'd be incredibly grateful. Thank you!

Maybe a biological washing liquid?
There are lots of suggestions on google. I would start with the gentle ones and see how it goes.

Try putting white vinegar or baking soda in it and leave it for a few hours.
