Cleaners - a key question

I've been really stupid in not having a contract with my cleaner. She's been coming to me for a while and I've had no issues

However she couldn't gain access this week as one of her employees has my keys and has gone on holiday with them in her car.

I assumed (my fault, I absolutely should have checked) that keys would be stored safely in her home in a locked box or safe.

Would you be concerned and considering terminating the cleaning arrangements?

I've mesaaged her to say I'm not happy - not sure what I'm expecting in response from her!

We have a key holding policy for clients.

They are secured away until the day of the clean. They are tagged in a way that we can identify whose is whose but would be meaningless to anyone else.

In the event of a key being lost, we would pay for a replacement. We wouldn’t pay for new locks as the way we tag them does not pose a security risk to client’s homes.

It would be worth asking what their policy is. Perhaps they’ve never had an issue before and so it hasn’t occurred to them to have a policy.

@Fynoderee thanks for the response. I've stupidly not checked anything. She's not replied to my message which has riled me a bit. I'm on holiday and really don't want to be hassling back and forth about it

Dh thinks I should leave it as she's decent (last one kept breaking things!)
