Anyone been to Alton Towers in the last week? Is it crazy busy? We're thinking of going on Sunday but if we will spend all day queueing I won't bother!

Thanks.

At this time in the season there'll be approximately 20-35k people on park, with the higher headcount on Fri, Sat and Sun and the lowest on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Bizarrely, the very overcast drizzly days are often busier than warm sunny days, I think because lots of people think no one else will go in the rain.

Thanks! That's good to know. Sounds like a weekday would be better.

It will be extremely busy. Nemesis is also out of action so that's one less ride to share the load.

A couple of summers ago, we had an almost 3 hour wait for Smiler... Nemesis only had a 10 minute queue at some points during the day though. The wooden one was over 90 minutes.

I'd strongly consider some sort of fast track if funds allow, but I know they're unpopular.

Sorry - it was Oblivion with the 10 minute queue.

Fast track sounds like a good idea! We've got money off the tickets so could afford it.

Is the park still good for the rides, gardens, etc

Not been for years but it's always insanely busy in the summer holidays! Be expecting to queue for up to two hours for one ride in my experience
