How long does an offer letter take ?

Hi all !

I interviewed for a role on 27th , then got a phone call offering me the role in the morning the next day. When discussing everything needed for onboarding I asked what the timeframe was for the offer letter and hr said they would send it by Monday(today).

I haven’t received anything so wondering when would be appropriate to send a follow up email in regards to the offer letter? Not sure if I’m just extremely paranoid as this has happened before and I ended up without a job 😱

thanks in advance.😀

I do completely get the feeling! You just want it to arrive and to be more set in stone. I don’t think tommorow would be unreasonable to chase?

I would wait till wait Wed/Thurs.
They said to send out by Mon, they may have only sent it in the post today.

Are you referring to a physical letter? If it was only offered and accepted on Thursday, bear in mind that it's only been 2 working/business days so far (one of which is today - when they indicated it might go out by) I really wouldn't have expected to receive it yet at all.

If it went out today you'll receive it this week, midweek onwards if 2nd class, a day earlier if 1st.

If it's supposed to be via email then I'd probably enquire towards the back end if the week if I'd heard nothing but I wouldn't be concerned at the current time, it's not been long at all.

Onboarding?

Yes that’s what HR called it

Sorry meant to say email 😀. I’ll wait till the end of the week and see what happens.

In my place the recruiting manager says they'll get the letter out next week, and HR takes two weeks longer Hmm

I personally would check on Weds or Thurs, very politely.
