First of all I have a CT scan this week for a bowel issue, so if I need an ankle x-ray then I’m worried about the amount of radiation.
I’ve sprained my ankles on various occasions. There was one very bad one where I was convinced it was broken so I went to A&E for an x-ray, but it wasn’t broken, just a really bad sprain. Every time I’ve hurt my ankle it’s got swollen and I’ve been to a physiotherapist who sorted it out. She explained that fluid can pile up around the ankles and physio gets rid of it.
A week or two ago, I can’t remember exactly but I work up one morning and I must’ve done something overnight because I don’t remember spraining it. It’s a bit swollen. It hurt when I was sitting cross legged one day. I wake up every morning with it hurting already. I can walk fine though.
I don’t really know what to do now? Should I just see a physio again or do I really go to get an x-ray just in case? And if I have a CT scan this week anyway then that’s even more radiation?
