You’ve Got Mail

Currently watching it with DD. I have seen it many many many times. There are many things that I wonder - where does she keep her keys, isn’t she furious with Joe for shutting her shop, did she really want to be running the shop in the first place.

Just occurred to me whilst watching that Katherine Kelly’s coffee shop of choice is Starbucks. Not an independent. She makes a big speech about NY being over taken by chains and loss of identity and yet uses them herself.

I have seen it far too many times…

I've concluded that the Starbucks thing was intentional. People are wrapped up in their own world, and usually mean no harm. However, further down the chain, there are consequences. She is no different from the people who ditched her store for Jack's book shop. It's a bit 'circle of life'y.

You'd think she'd mind a little bit that Hanksy was lying to her about who he was the whole time.

I think there is a sense that she is running the shop out of duty than choice. But yeah, Joe has lied to her throughout.

I enjoyed shouting hypocrite whilst watching it though.

Last time I watched it I felt uneasy. Seen through today’s understanding he is grooming her. But I still love the end.

I love the film, but like all 90's depictions of NYC I get really mad thinking HTF does MR's character afford a massive apartment when her business is not doing well? I don't know why but I find TH's niece really annoying.

Snarknado had a more believable storyline than You've Got Mail.

@PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog she’s his aunt! She’s also Mark Greens daughter in ER and was really annoying in that. My DD makes me skip the bit where she sings.

I looked up how much the apartment was worth one time but I’ve forgotten what it was.

just watched it for the first time today
missed the beginning but gathered the story.
it is dated
it is through today's eyes a strange story.
