I’ve just discovered one bite on my tummy and two on my ankle - so these look like mozzie bites or flea?

we have a kitten which we got 4 weeks ago but she came flea treated and we flea treat her regularly and she obviously hasn’t gone outdoors.

help please!

We have an 8 month old house kitten who we flea treated when we brought home, who has never been outside. When we got him neutered last month, the vet said he had fleas and we gave him Veterinary strength flea treatment which is stronger than other ones,so maybe he had them all along as the treatment wasn't strong enough first time.

Thank you - do these look like flea bites?

Flea infestation is not just of the animal, it can become a house issue.
You should also treat/deal with your house, and fabrics.
Fleas lay eggs, and then enter the pupa stage, which are resistant to insecticides. When the new adults emerge, and if they can’t bite the kitten, they will bite you.

They do look like flea bites in the first photo. In the second one, it looks like a larger reaction. But they do seem to have the bump that mosquitoes do not usually produce.

Honestly the bites could be anything, flea, mozzie, midge, spider etc etc

Do you have a flea or nit comb? Just run it through his coat, especially under the chin and you may see some fleas, or flea poo which is black and gritty. Or manually part his fur and take a look under chin, and behind ears.

They could be flea bites. We've just dealt with an infestation (same potential reason as you, vets flogging non-prescription flea treatment when they should have prescribed it).

These are older bites on me - I found they started smaller and redder than a mosquito bite and grew with the inevitable scratching. I didn't have any super close together like yours though. It's four weeks since we deflead the house and five weeks since we got better treatment for the cats (I know because they had their second dose last week). And my feet have only just stopped itching and we don't even have any carpets!

I had a thread on The Litter Tray and got lots of good advice.
