It's difficult isn't it? It's all very well saying wellies and waterproofs and carry on regardless, but most kids don't like being out in the rain all day.
I too have adult children, and I was chatting with my mum about this yesterday. On nice days we'd have spent long days in the park or making camps in the garden, and bike rides, beach etc. Not such fun with wind and sideways rain. You can dress smaller ones up and go jumping in puddles for a while, and you might have bigger ones doing sports practise or whatever, but I defy most families to spend a day in it.

I was lucky that my parents had a big house and we would sometimes pitch up there, and the cousins would go too and they'd camp inside, or explore the attic and generally muck about. Several adults on hand too. Not as easy with say one adult, 3 kids and a small home. We'd also go to friends' houses or they'd come to ours, but in that time most of my friend group worked part time or not at all, so it was doable. Not as easy now when families are juggling work and childcare (although it reduces the problem if kids are at camps or childcare - or at least ut passes the problem to someone else)

On other threads there are plenty of posters finding it difficult @Amniceandgenuine , and I think they would appreciate your sympathy. Not sure why you got such snippy replies!
