I just turned it on in time to hear a man singing 'You Raise Me Up' in another language. What language was it?

Was it on Loose Ends? They had someone from Suriname, and mentioned Surnamese or something, which is developed out of Dutch, English, Hindu and African languages. I wasn't listening closely, though.

Is was sarramaccan sound and the song wasn't you raised me up it was called new beginnings I think? If you go on BBC sounds you can listen from the beginning

It was Saramaccan Sound and they are from Surinam which is a Dutch colony if that helps at all?

You've all found it, but sadly not available in my area (outside UK). Oh well, it was so beautiful I'm sure it will be on Spotify or Youtube before long.
